The Three Lakes Hike is one of the most popular trails in the Schladming-Dachstein region. Visit three stunning mountain lakes on a single hike while enjoying spectacular waterfalls along the way.
Waypoints
- Steirischer Bodensee (1,144 m) — the starting point, crystal-clear mountain lake
- Seewigtalstüberl — first stop, refreshments available
- Forellenhof (1,158 m) — end of the valley section
- Bodensee Waterfall (1,265 m) — impressive waterfall, great photo spot
- Hans-Wödl-Hütte / Hüttensee (1,533 m) — mountain lodge at the second lake, lunch stop
- Veil Waterfall (Schleierwasserfall) (1,647 m) — the highlight of the hike
- Obersee (1,700 m) — the highest and most tranquil lake
Important notes
- The ascent is very steep — hiking poles strongly recommended
- Sturdy hiking boots required, stone steps can be slippery after rain
- Return via the same route
- Stop at the Hans-Wödl-Hütte for lunch
- Start early to have time to enjoy the lakes
