The longest and most demanding e-bike route in the Schladming-Dachstein region. 55 kilometres, over 1,500 metres of total ascent and the Bachlalm at 1,663 metres as the highlight. This is not a leisurely ride — but with an e-bike and good planning it’s an unforgettable full-day alpine adventure.
Route highlights
- Start in the valley (721 m) — Schladming area
- Gradual ascent — alternating between valley and forest sections
- Bachlalm (1,663 m) — high point of the route, mountain restaurant
- Return — partly different track, long descent
Tips
- Allow a full day: leave in the morning, return early to late afternoon
- Battery: start fully charged and plan for mid-ride charging (Bosch Bike & Hike stations)
- Bring enough water and food
- Always check the weather forecast before setting off — conditions change fast at altitude
- Have lunch at the Bachlalm — you’ve earned the Kaiserschmarrn
- Only attempt this if you already have experience with e-bike mountain rides
- Stay attentive on the descent too — brakes can heat up on long downhill sections
